Summer Dance Intensive
The Edmonton School of Ballet 'Summer Dance Intensive' is a fun and educational dance camp that runs intensively for 2 weeks each summer. Classes include ballet, variations/repertoire, jazz, modern, hip hop, and tap dance among others. At the end of each camp, there is a costumed, theatre performance demonstrating the culmination of the 2 weeks' work. For more information about the ESB Summer Dance Intensive please contact the office.
It is imperative that dancers continue some intensive training during the summer months. We recommend the ESB Summer Dance Intensive as it has a carefully developed curriculum to best enhance our students’ development. Other summer dance programs may be approved by the Artistic Director, such as the Banff School of Fine Arts. Such requests should be made in writing prior to the end of the school year. Upon approval, students may attend another summer dance program and take only a partial program in the ESB Intensive Summer Dance Camp. Without summer classes, it takes a dancer several months to regain the strength and technique lost over the summer. Students in the ESB Preparatory Program, in the Vimy Ridge Academy Dance Program and those recreational students at similar levels (ie: Jr. 4 and up) who do not attend the Summer Dance Intensive may not progress to the next level in the fall. Fees for the 'Summer Dance Intensive' are extra. This year our Summer Dance Intensive will run from August 3 - 14, 2010.
